Luminous Lagoon

After sunset a boat takes you out where the river meets the sea, and the water lights blue-green around everything that moves.

Microorganisms in the brackish water glow when disturbed, and this lagoon holds one of the few populations dense enough to see it nightly. Boats leave Glistening Waters marina from sunset; the tour runs forty-five minutes to an hour, and you can slip over the side and swim in the glow — bring a suit. It's a night tour by nature, and the show depends on conditions: darker nights are better.
